Abraham Maslow’s “Hierarchy of Needs” model is a useful tool to help you refine the problem that your One Thing addresses.
The model is a pyramid that stacks people’s priorities, starting with basic physiological needs at the bottom (air, water, food, shelter, and reproduction). These are the most fundamental needs that help ensure our biological prime directive: survive so that you can reproduce.
On top of the basic physical needs come safety, then love and belonging, then esteem, and finally self-actualisation at the top.
