Services in the done-with-you category can help you deliver to greater numbers of people, whether in-person or online, although they will each pay lower fees than DFY clients.

Group coaching

You can deliver coaching or teaching to groups of people, either online or in person. This can be a particularly useful way to boost the value that you deliver to each attendee if they can all learn together from the universal content you deliver or from watching the way you work with individuals within the group.

Particularly in live scenarios, you can also ask participants to break out into smaller groups, which is a way to get them to be more engaged and each to do more work in the available time.

I have run coaching sessions for groups over several years. In the case of my “Pro Web Design Alliance” group, I held two weekly hangouts where my members could bring their issues or training needs to discuss in the group. I also encouraged members to collaborate and partner with each other.

That points to one of the strengths of memberships and other events: by simply being a host, you can gather together a group of people, each of whom brings their own value, thereby creating new opportunities simply by setting aside a space.

Could you create a group that you can serve in a multitude of ways, delivering training, coaching, problem resolution, live case studies, networking, and opportunities for collaboration?

Membership sites

You can view a membership site as on-going, subscription-based, asynchronous content delivery. If all the content is posted by you and then consumed at any time, then a membership could fit into the DIY category. However, many membership sites offer live components.

This is the main offering in one of my businesses, The Human Unleashed. Our members get access to dozens of hours of pre-recorded videos, and there is also an exclusive social media group, plus bi-weekly Q&A webinars. For a two-figure monthly subscription, members can post their questions in the few days running up to the Q&A, and the team answers them on a live webinar, which is also recorded and shared in the membership area.

You may also consider taking your membership into the real world with local meet-ups or chapters.
